Cartier

The new Cartier Santos looks great, but honestly I’m not a huge fan of butterfly clasps. They always feel just a little too inexact for me. It definitely doesn’t have the same feel of your wrist resting on a Rolex Oyster clasp for example. Overall not bad at all, but I would definitely prefer this on either the rubber or leather strap. The bracelet just feels too smooth and unstable. Otherwise though the dial looks great, classic Cartier (which is great with how so many brands are throwing out great older designs in favor of poorly executed new ones). Case size for the largest model is great as well.

This picture doesn’t do a justice to the color of the watch or the strap, but this is the ultimate watch for somebody who wants an attention grabbing blue watch. It’s a little over-the-top and flamboyant in places, but if you like the color then there is no other watch like it. The strap is more of a metallic blue color and the color of the watch changes slightly in different types of lighting. Definitely not an everyday/work watch, but if you love blue and want something very unique then this is it.

Omega

Tied for my favorite modern Omega watch. This Oreo’s bezel really makes it stand out from the rest of Omega’s lineup and is definitely a watch for someone who likes to pave their own path. You won’t run the risk of wearing this and running into ten other people wearing the same watch within a few days the way you would with a Speedmaster.
Ralph Lauren

Rolex

The very breathable elastomer band that Rolex had introduced initially only for the Everose Yacht-Masters feels great on the wrist. Additionally, the Everose and black combination looks great. While I feel a Yacht-Master in Rolesium (stainless steel and platinum) looks too uniformly silver in color and boring, the contrast here really make this watch pop w/o being too loud.

Vacheron Constantin

The center of the dial stays a fairly consistent nice blue color, but the indices are where this watch really shines. The indices are designed in such a way that when light hits them they light up in almost a bright jewel tone blue. You have to see it in person, but you can sort of get an idea at just shy of the 1 and 7 hour markers. While the bracelet of a Royal Oak may look a little better, I’d definitely take this watch over a comparable blue/steel Royal Oak chronograph. The quick change bracelet/strap system is nice and Vacheron provides you with not only the bracelet, but a matching leather strap as well as a rubber one. Lots of versatility with this Overseas, and the blue dial really makes the watch.
