After 99 articles, we’ve finally reached number 100. I had been planning out this article for a number of months, trying to think of what I wanted to write about for WMWB’s 100th article. Lots of topics came to mind: big announcements for the website, the planning of future events, maybe even simply a recap of the highlights of the first 99 articles. While a number of things were planned for the WMWB 100, everything got scrapped on October 7th when Israel was attacked.
I’d like to bring this back to watches and try and finish on a positive note in a bit, but I want to first state that I condemn as strongly as humanly possible the attack on Israel that occurred on October 7th. As a result of Hamas’ attack, over 1,200 Israelis were killed. Over 200 were taken hostage by Hamas into Gaza, with many still being held there. Israel now works to eliminate the terrorist organization, Hamas, and rescue all Israelis held hostage in Gaza. Since October 7th, Israel has dealt with rocket fire and other attacks from all sides of the country, as well as further terror attacks within Israel. I hope that everyone will keep Israel in their prayers and that those who are able to will give to emergency relief services in Israel to help in the aftermath of this barbaric atrocity. After the massive loss of life in the attack on October 7th, I hope Israel will emerge much more secure and more unified as a people in the wake of this tragedy.

After October 7th, things at WMWB were put on pause for a bit, but now WMWB should finally begin to operate at full capacity again. Moving towards some of what I originally had planned as announcements for WMWB 100, there are a few upcoming events I’d like to announce:
First off, we have the inaugural WMWB Awards taking place on December 15th. This will be an annual event where the top watches in the industry are given awards in eight categories.
Watchmas VII, the original watch holiday, will be taking place on March 23rd. Hopefully Watchmas will continue to grow to be a bigger and bigger event with each passing year.
Lastly, we have a big announcement that will be unveiled hopefully before the second half of 2024. I’m really excited to see this one finally get off the ground.
I want to thank you all for supporting WMWB. I never thought that this website that I started as something just for fun would grow into a serious, competitive watch blog. It’s been one of the best surprises of my life. Here’s hoping to much bigger and better things by the 200th article.
